Located on the west side of Whidbey Island, in Greenbank, Washington, this addition places nearly 1,800 square feet of living space between an existing home and a detached garage. By placing the living room, dining, and kitchen on the second floor, and cantilevering a deck over the existing home’s roof, a sweeping 180° view of the Puget Sound and Olympic Peninsula become a major focal point. While one of the major constraints was to keep costs down as much as possible, there was never any question that the view was paramount.
